"Nearly famous since 2001"
Images & Story from our good friend, Wilfried Probst
The model was part of the household of my grandparents in Stuttgart, Julie and Kurt Franckh. I think my grandmother got it from her parents (Fam. Schweizer), who also lived in Stuttgart.
I think it was family property for five to six generations. The model was used for Christmas cookery every year till about 1955.
Best regards, Wilfried Probst.
At the right is a treasured photograph of Wilfried's grandmother.

I would like to thank my friend Wilfried for sharing these images and photos, and for the background story about his family's use of their special Springerle and the place the cookies had in their holiday and seasonal celebrations. You can almost see Wilfried's Great Grandmother in a warm cozy kitchen pressing Springerle for the holiday guests and family. Warmth and Love were surely in that kitchen.
