Springerle Mold Originals and Rolling Pins

In this section you will see molds from the 17th to the 20th Century. Some of these molds have very intricate detail and are beautifully carved.
Many of the photos and accompanying stories were sent by German folk that wanted to share a bit of their heritage and family history with us.
A few private collectors here in the States have also allowed me to post photos of their collections. I wish to gratefully thank them all for being so kind as to do so and hope that you will enjoy these photos and stories.

Please note that in some of the photos the true color of the molds is not reflected as it is necessary to highlight some molds to show all the images well. I have seen many of the molds that are posted here and the photos do not do them justice.

If you have any family molds you would wish to share please send photos and as many details as possible about the mold. Age, origin, carver (if known) previous owners and its history in your family. These will be added to the site for all to enjoy. When sending in photos, a black background is best but I am always pleased to receive a photo of the owner holding their molds as well. Both will be posted.

If you have any original molds which you want to be in good hands, please contact me. I am always interested in obtaining original Springerle molds. I am always interested in the history of these molds and am happy when people still can provide some information about the age of the molds, the carvers if still known, the previous owners - just anything which helps to pass on the heritage of these pieces of folk art.
